Subject:Married!
Time:06:43 am
As you all should know, I married Ty a few weeks ago. It was a wonderful wedding! Almost everyone we invited was able to make it which made it incredibly special. It was supposed to rain all day, but it was perfect weather. The maid of honor and the best man went above and beyond the call of duty. A couple of mishaps that Ty did not mention: one of my bridesmaids got pooed on by a bird - twice - before the wedding and the shoulder strap of my dress kept coming off. In other words, the wedding was practically flawless. The reception was great too. The food was delicious (though I barely ate!), the cake was beautiful and I hear delicious (again I barely ate!), the speeches were very special to me, and all in all, it was a ton of fun! And to all of you out there who got up and danced when I asked you to: thank you!
The honeymoon was beautiful. The hotel we were staying at (in Wailea, if you are going off of Ty's journal)had an infinity pool, so it felt like you could keep on swimming right into the ocean. :) Besides what Ty mentioned, we also saw an Hawaiian play that was great, took the 'road to Hana' and for those who haven't been, it is a really, really long curvey road along the coast but through the rain forest. We went by several waterfalls, walked on a black sand beach, saw the 7 sacred pools, and walked in a lava tunnel, all on that one road trip! When we went snorkeling we saw dolphins and 5 foot long eels. We ate at some delicious places too. Mostly though we relaxed around the hotel. It was a wonderful, wonderful honeymoon!

Subject:Busy busy
Time:11:50 am
I suppose it's time to post again. Things are very busy for me right now. I have settled into the school routine, the classes are exceptionally easy this semester, but I admit I am growing spiritually (perhaps because all of my classes are spiritual formation classes). We are currently trying to sell our car (anyone want a 97 Hyundai Accent that runs great for $1200? We bought a cute little car for $600 so we have wheels, but no money lol. I have an interview for a job at my school today, it's a custodian job, so with my back problems I don't know if they'll hire me. I could sure use the money though. We applied for an apartment yesterday. It's really pretty and affordable which is very good. even when I can work though we'll probably continue to live ther just because it's so nice. This is, of course, assuming that we get into this apartment. Wedding plans are going well, even though there's still a million things to do. Trying to keep track of them all is hard, even with lists. This weekend is my bridal shower so I'm coming up to Canada (hurray!). I'm quite excited about it and it will be really nice to see everyone again. I can't believe my wedding is only a few weeks away, its really just kinda sneaked up on me! Well, I hope someone out there still reads my blogs, though they are few an far between (mostly because I keep my own journal now an I'm convinced I'm writing to no one). :)

We made it to Portland, and if you'd like to read about the horror story of getting here, check ut Ty's journal. I'm so done. I've got nothing left emotionally. I'm goign to a school dominated by men; I live at an apartment/dorm where everyone sticks tot themsleves; I have been told it is next to impossible to get an apartment in Portland; Ty is stressed about finding a job; its gloomy outside; I have no idea whaere to beginw ith my wedding; I need to hold onto Ty but we're not allowed to be in a room together with the door closed; .... please pray. I was so sure and Ty was sure this was where God wanted us. Why is this so hard then?

Subject:Gophers and Work
Time:04:10 pm
Gophers are very stange animals. At least to me, anyway. I was walking back from work one day and I heard what I thought was a bird. IT was very loud but the sound seemed to originate from the ground. A bird was answering from the trees and it sounded very different. As I got closer to the gopher holes I saw this little gopher staring intently up into the trees. The bird chirped and immediately the gopher chirped back. Loudly. I never knew such a small animal could carry such a punch in his (or her) voice. I kind of assumed they were quiet animals, like chipmunks or squirrels. I should have known better from the many hourse I played Mario Kart as a child. Does anyone remember the gophers that popped out of their holes and you could hit? When you hit them they stuck to the front of the kart and chirped like crazy. Who knew Super Nintendo caredto be accurate in something like that?! The little gopher guy I saw was so intent on making contact with his new friend, he didn't notic me come very close to him. As I was passing I noticed that henever he chirped, he did so with his whole body. He thre his whole body into it, starting from his haunches. IT's a pretty cool thing to see, as far as I'm concerned. And that's my story of the gopher.

As I mentioned in my last post, I am tranferring jobs. I had my last day in my restaurant, the Poppy Brasserie yesterday and my new work gave me a long weekend. (Incidentally, they actually only gave me fri sat off but when I gently reminded them about needing Sundays off they gave me a stat day, which appaently I am very very backed up on). Anyway, today I went into the Poppy to pick up my tips and they, of course, asked me if I could work tomorow night. I really should have bet someone money onthis. It was pretty much a guarantee if I showed my face around the Poppy they would ask me to work. I managed to decline, telling them I needed a mini vacation before starting work in my new job. But I am more than willing to bet that in the near future I will get many a call to ask if I want to help them out. And guaranteed when I go in to pick up my last pay stub, they will ask me to work. But so it goes withthe only person allowed to tranfer out of the poppy. Seriously, only one other person has tranferred, and that is because the boss royally screwed up and my friend went to someone above the boss, demanding to be transferred. Otherwise, she was not being allowed. Everyone else has either quit or been fired. It is a sad state in the Poppy right now and I am extremely happy to have transferred. I definitely had to work long and hard and sacrifice too much (my pride) to do it, but in the end it was worth it. I am looking forward to a whole new experiece (and a much larger paycheck) in my new department. Hooray for no more Food and Beverage!

Subject:Noro, the death of us all
Time:07:24 pm
Noro. The virus that sweeps Lake Louise every year at this time and turns everyone into germ fearing weaklings who attack with the only two real superheros in history: bleach and antibactieral. The entire hotel is obsessed with disenfectant: the stwearding supervisors go around every day and spray every door handle, I have to santize my cutlery every 15 minutes, as well as my hands, the staff cafeteria will not let you in until you sanitize your hands,a nd the posters around staff housing warning against Noro are nothing short of terrifying. This is all for good reason because every year almost every single staff member comes down with this virus and it is disgusting. You vomit and have diarreah for 8 hours straight and then and deathly ill for three days. Hurray. Not only do staff members get it, but guests as well and already it is running rampant among the guests. every time a guest coughs on my buffet, I panic and sanitize. This all reminds me of that movie Virus. You know, the one with the moey. It's scary stuff, let me tell you.

In other news, I finally transfer in two more days. I am moving fromt eh Breakfast buffet to the call center of the hotel. Ig et a huge pay raise which is very nice and needed. It is needed because when I go go back to school it will be quite expensive and even if I am able to work in the States I don't think I could keep up witht he cost of University.

Speaking of school, has anyone heard of Fuller University? It's another school I'm considering and Iknow I've heard of it, and their statement of faith and credentials are good but I can't remember what people thought of it.

In case I haven't said this: I have my license and in Alberta the rules are incredibly lax. I can drive on the 1, I can have as many people in the car as I dos eatbelts, my teacher just has to have thier full license doesn't matter the age, andI can't drive between 12-5 AM. It's pretty sweet. :)

That's about it for now.

This is a conglomerate post of many things from many days past and I will start with the escape from Lake Louise. A few weeks ago we were trying to go to church and we went into the village: the only way onto the highway. The cops stopped us and told us to go home. There was a propane leak and the only way out from town was blocked for a couple of hours. Or so we thought, anyway. We asked if there was another way out and the cop got thoughful and said there was the emergency exit and said maybe we could fit under the bar. So we drove down to it and...lifted the bar and drove to the highway and lifted the other bar and were the only ones to escape LAke Louise for a couple of hours that day! It was pretty sweet.

I injured my back at work awhile ago. I sprained th S/I joint and now I'm a gimp. I've been on light duties for two weeks and will be on light duties for two more weeks at least. I go to physio three times a week and I'm probably not going to be able to go to the hill before it closes for the system. This makes me very sad, I miss the hill terribly and I hate sitting around doing squat all.

My little sister had surgery on her mouth and this is very exciting news. She's in a lot of pain but now she'll stop having migraines all the time!

Yesterday was my year and a hald with Ty. Exactly a year ago we went to Science World in Vancouver. Ty was planning it all but his plans fell through so at the last minute he took em to the equivalent of Science World in Calgary. It was fun! There was a giant snakes a dn ladders board and a moving rock wall and a bed of nails we laid on and so much more! i had a really good time. After that we decided to eat dinner in calgary so we parked at the Fairmont and asked about the rates to the Calgary tower (like the space needle). Turns out, it was affordable, so we went to the top to eat in the revovling restuarant. This is something I have always wanted to do! We stood ont he glass part and looked down, it was scary even though I knew the glass would not break. The dinner was delicious and so romantic and the view...well, I definitley couldn't comeplain! He really is the best boyfriend ever :)

There's plenty more but that's the major highlights of the past few weeks.

My back is killing me. Want to know why? I sprained it at work. It's my fault entirely. I picked up too many plates and now it's painful to do anything. The doctor said I could still work as long as I don't do any forward bending, which basically is all I do at work. Anyway, I have been working but my back is getting worse. Now it hurts all the time. So I'm planning on going back to the doctor tomorrow after work and asking for a note to take time off from work. It sucks to be in pain.

Subject:Jamaica skiing
Time:05:20 pm
I took a Jamaican skiing the other day. Downhill skiing. It was his first time, obviously. It was great fun. He kept accidentally trying to parallel ski hich is bad and dangerous for beginner skiiers because they have no control. I finally taught him how to turn and stop (two hours on the bunny hill) and I skied down the hill, stopped and told himt o stop before me. Let me just say this: never ever ever use yourself as a target. He rammed into me so hard I whipped around nad ended up on my back. This was a few days ago and I'm still sore. And this was on the Bunny Hill! So I did take him on a couple of green runs where he nearly killed himself and I just kept out of his way so he didn't kill me in the process. There were tons of mishaps ( I don't think he had his skiis on properly all day and he fell down more times than I coudl count) but he had a great time and I feel great for teaching him how to ski!

In other news I went to a magic show on Sunday night and it was pretty decent. The guy was a Christian and gave a good message for non-Christians using a magic trick.

That's about it as far as interesting news goes. Thanks for reading!

Subject:Valentines and something I bought
Time:06:21 pm
So random...Ty's last LJ entry says he posted Mar. 8, 07...oooh Ty's going into the future to post! lol... Anyway, on Valentine's day, Ty had been planning a suprise for me so we tokt he bus to Banff, had lunch with Kim and then he took me on a sleigh ride1 How romantic is that!?! It was a beautiful red sleigh and the horses were amazing creatures, thier breed almost estinct expecpt for the ones in Alberta. We wrapped up in blankets for the ride, it was great. Then we walked to the Banff Springs Fairmont hotel, wandered around (its soooo beautiful!) and then ate dinner at a fancy restuarant there that specializes in fondue. It was so incredible. Ty's awesome for planning it all!

In other news, today I bought my first car. Yep, that's right, my first car. It was only $1500 and it's in good working condition, my superivsor sold it to me and he really had to get rid of it so I'm happy. Next step: get my license. I know its backwards but I really really needed transportation out here and Ty can drive me around while I'm learning. Besides I'm going for my license in about a week or two.

That's about all. Ty and I are off to watch a movie and I must continue to think and debate about what I want to do when I leave this place: any ideas, anybody?
